I am a Doctoral Research and Teaching Assistant in the Chair of Mathematics for Information Processing at LMU Munich. Previously, I held the same position at RWTH Aachen University. With a background in Applied Mathematics, my research interests include optimization, dynamical systems, modeling, and stochastic approximation, with a particular focus on applications in deep learning.
Research Interests
Machine Learning and Deep Learning | Optimization | Stochastic approximation | Dynamic Systems | Compressive Sensing
I began my PhD research project at RWTH Aachen University, focusing on optimization methods for training deep linear neural networks, and completed it at LMU Munich. I hold an MSc in Applied Mathematics, with a background in dynamical systems, numerical analysis, and modeling, as well as a cooperative master's degree in Industrial Mathematics with a specialization in Machine Learning. My research findings provide convergence properties of gradient descent and stochastic gradient descent for training deep linear neural networks. Previous projects include machine learning applications for predicting fuel consumption and dectecting anomalies in power generation plants, as well as modeling and analyzing systems that take into account impulsive phenomena.
I prepare and conduct exercise sessions for the following lectures:
